Three Rivers Community Hospital & Health Center

The 196,000-square-foot, three-story Three Rivers Community Hospital was designed by Moon Mayoras to consolidate two existing hospitals into a single facility. The 98-bed facility was organized around a 300-foot-long, 30-foot-wide, two-story lobby, which provides functional space for what the design team coined “celebrations of health”, including various community health-related activities, such as women’s health education and cholesterol testing.

The exterior skin of the hospital features a constant datum in the form of a 3-foot 9-inch square grid offset by expressive elements, including the Lab0r/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) Unit’s bay windows, recessed windows, and a diamond pattern expression on the stairs. The drop-off and pick-up areas feature covered canopies with pyramid skylights.
