Legacy Meridian Park Hospital retained Moon Mayoras to design a 32,000-square-foot addition comprised of 16 intensive care and 16 intermediate care beds directly adjacent to the Tualatin, Oregon hospital’s existing surgery suite to allow direct patient access into the intensive care unit (ICU)/intermediate care unit (IMCU). Dedicated ICU/IMCU waiting areas feature expansive views of the surrounding landscape to provide family members a sense of respite while remaining at the unit for longer durations.
Moon Mayoras designed the ICU/IMCU addition with four separate nursing pods organized along a shared central support core. Each pod consists of eight patient rooms, allowing Legacy to organize the 32-bed addition into manageable care centers and providing staff and physicians direct visual contact to each of the rooms. The addition also includes decentralized charting stations with direct visual access outside of each patient room.
