MERCY GILBERT MEDICAL CENTER Gilbert, Arizona This new acute care hospital will exist on a 100-acre healthcare campus made up of a 60-acre hospital site consisting of 94 beds with ability to accommodate 102 additional beds as demand grows. The remaining 40-acres will consist of complimentary healthcare services such as physician medical office buildings, assisted living and research options. The embracing open arms of the two in-patient care units invite the public to the canopy at the center for main entry drop off area. The rotunda and chapel tower reinforce the way finding of this entry point, while establishing the identity of this facility within the community. Visitor parking is located directly in two parking lots located to the southwest of this entry, while ambulance and service truck traffic access is located on a dedicated loop road that is separated from public and outpatient access. CARSON TAHOE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER Carson City, Nevada The organizational goal of this project is to establish and implement a design that will allow for thoughtful growth to meet the communities' needs today and in the future. The 50-acre parcel is designed to accommodate a 144-bed, 345,000 SF facility, along with a 13,000 SF Central Plant. Additionally, the project also included planning for freestanding Cancer Center and three Medical Office Buildings (MOB) on the new site adjacent to the new facility. The facility has controlled access and is buffered by a pond and greenery in a serene campus setting. The design of the hospital is based on a "healing environment" theme that invites elements of nature to become part of the patient, visitor and staff experience. The lobby and waiting areas are bathed in natural light and provide a view and access to the natural river-wash to the dramatic northeastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. OAK VALLEY HOSPITAL Oakdale, California Oak Valley Hospital District is replacing the current aging facility with a new 58-bed facility, which consists of 6 LDRP beds, 4 Post-Operative C-section beds, 42 Medical Surgical beds and a 6-bed ICU. The replacement hospital will also provide a 12 position Emergency Room to meet the community's needs for healthcare. The new addition will provide Inpatient/Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging, Respiratory services, 4 Operating Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Suites and Nutritional Services. The entrance lobby is designed to provide the public a starting point to view and select from all of the departments: Registration, Diagnostic Imaging, Surgical Services, Emergency Service, Public Elevators and Gift Shop. This layout simplifies the patient and visitors access to specific service lines. The two story lobby will bring in north facing light through a 27'-0" x 90'-0" window. THREE RIVERS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Grants Pass, Oregon This 196,000 square foot, 3-story facility consolidates services from two existing hospitals into a single facility. The 98-bed facility is organized around a 300-foot long, two-story lobby. The lobby houses the Dining Area, Resource Center, Gift Shop and multiple Public and Outpatient services for the community. The "celebration of health" theme permeates throughout the facility with floating waiting areas on the second level, which overlooks the river theme flowing through the length of the lobby. Each patient drop-off area provides a covered canopy highlighted by triangular skylights. The exterior skin expresses a constant datum which is offset by expressive elements, such as the patient room bay windows, recessed areas, stairs and three-story cone-shaped element. MARIAN MEDICAL CENTER Inpatient Tower Replacement Santa Maria, California This 195,000 square foot 4-story replacement facility will relocate services from an antiquated 1964 patient tower into a new innovative patient-centered care environment. This facility is designed to be contextual with the surrounding Santa Maria mission-style architecture and is organized around a two-story public lobby zone, which will house a Gift Shop, Information Resource Center and multiple Public and Outpatient Waiting Areas for the entire medical center. The facility will consist of 167 beds and will provide the following services:
